Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SavrBite mobile app and website (together, the "Service"), operated by SavrBite ("we," "our," or "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. The Service

SavrBite provides tools to track food inventory, monitor expiration dates, scan barcodes and grocery receipts, add items by voice, build shopping lists, and generate and save recipes. Features, availability, and functionality may change over time, and we may add, modify, or remove features at our discretion.

Some features use artificial intelligence, including identifying items from receipts and voice input, estimating expiry dates, and generating recipes. AI output can be incomplete or wrong, so please review items before saving them and check recipes for ingredients, allergens, and cooking steps before you rely on them.

3. Accounts

• You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You're responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account and keep it up to date.
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

4. Acceptable Use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulations.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except as permitted by law.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
• Use automated means to scrape or extract data from the Service without our written consent.

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of the inventory data, shopping lists, saved and imported recipes, preferences, and other content you add to SavrBite, including what you say when adding items by voice and the receipts you scan ("User Content"). How we handle that content, including what is sent to our service providers, is described in our Privacy Policy. You confirm that you have the right to add any content you import, such as recipes from a web page, and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your User Content solely to provide and improve the Service. We do not claim ownership of your User Content.

6. Third-Party Data

Barcode scanning relies on product data from OpenFoodFacts, an open, community-maintained database. We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of third-party product data, and you should always verify expiration dates and product details independently when it matters (e.g., for allergens).

7. Subscriptions & Payments

SavrBite offers a free tier, which may include monthly limits on some features, and an optional paid subscription, SavrBite Premium, which unlocks additional features such as Recipes. Premium is available as a monthly or annual plan, with the current price shown in the app before you buy.

• Billing: payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm your purchase. We don't receive or store your payment card details.
• Automatic renewal: your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period for the same length and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
• Cancelling: you can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings, or from the Account page in the app. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Premium until the end of the period you've already paid for. Deleting the app or your SavrBite account does not cancel your subscription by itself.
• Refunds: refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. We can't issue refunds for purchases made through the app stores.
• Price changes: if the subscription price changes, Apple or Google will notify you in advance, as their rules require, and you can cancel before the new price applies.

The payment terms of the Apple App Store or Google Play, as applicable, also apply to your purchase.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, branding, text, graphics, and underlying software, is owned by SavrBite and protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited rights expressly granted to you to use the Service, we reserve all other rights.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Expiry reminders and recipe suggestions are provided as a convenience and should not be treated as food safety guarantees. Always use your own judgment when determining whether food is safe to eat.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SavrBite shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service, including but not limited to spoiled food, missed reminders, or reliance on recipe suggestions.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time through the app's settings. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that harms other users or the Service.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless otherwise required by applicable local law.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
