Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SavrBite mobile app and website (together, the "Service"), operated by SavrBite ("we," "our," or "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. The Service

SavrBite provides tools to track food inventory, monitor expiration dates, scan barcodes, build shopping lists, and discover recipes. Features, availability, and functionality may change over time, and we may add, modify, or remove features at our discretion.

3. Accounts

• You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You're responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account and keep it up to date.
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

4. Acceptable Use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulations.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except as permitted by law.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
• Use automated means to scrape or extract data from the Service without our written consent.

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of the inventory data, preferences, and other content you add to SavrBite ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your User Content solely to provide and improve the Service. We do not claim ownership of your User Content.

6. Third-Party Data

Barcode scanning relies on product data from OpenFoodFacts, an open, community-maintained database. We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of third-party product data, and you should always verify expiration dates and product details independently when it matters (e.g., for allergens).

7. Subscriptions & Payments

SavrBite offers a free tier and may offer optional paid subscription plans with additional features. If you purchase a subscription, billing terms, renewal, and cancellation details will be presented at the time of purchase through the applicable app store (Apple App Store or Google Play), and those platforms' payment terms also apply.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, branding, text, graphics, and underlying software, is owned by SavrBite and protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited rights expressly granted to you to use the Service, we reserve all other rights.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Expiry reminders and recipe suggestions are provided as a convenience and should not be treated as food safety guarantees. Always use your own judgment when determining whether food is safe to eat.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SavrBite shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service, including but not limited to spoiled food, missed reminders, or reliance on recipe suggestions.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time through the app's settings. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that harms other users or the Service.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless otherwise required by applicable local law.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
