• Inventory data: the food items, quantities, and expiry dates you add or scan, stored so the app can generate reminders and recipe suggestions.
• Barcode scan data: product identifiers sent to the OpenFoodFacts database to retrieve product details.
• Usage data: app interactions, crash reports, and performance metrics used to improve the Service.
• Device information: device type, operating system, and push notification tokens.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide core features: inventory tracking, expiry reminders, shopping lists, and recipe suggestions.
• To personalize the app to your household size and dietary preferences.
• To send notifications you've opted into, such as expiry alerts.
• To diagnose bugs, improve performance, and develop new features.
• To communicate important updates about your account or the Service.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your inventory data to build advertising profiles.

3. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We share data only with service providers who help us operate SavrBite, under agreements that limit how they can use it:

• OpenFoodFacts: barcode lookups are sent to this open product database to retrieve item details.
• Cloud infrastructure providers: for secure storage and syncing of your account data across devices.
• Analytics & crash reporting tools: to help us understand app stability and usage patterns, using aggregated or pseudonymized data where possible.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of SavrBite or our users.

4. Cookies & Tracking

Our website uses a small number of essential and analytics cookies to understand how visitors use our site and to remember basic preferences (like your dark/light mode choice, if applicable). You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may affect site functionality.

SavrBite is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you through the app or by email before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
